To the wife who’s lost hope,
I may not know you, but I know many in similar shoes. Things between you and your husband have been rocky for awhile now, and you’ve tried everything in your power to save it. Still, things seem either status quo, or, worse. Maybe things seem impossibly broken. Maybe things are turning into your worst fears, and you’re struggling.

Sweet sister, you’re not alone. Within our community of those fighting for their marriages, many have seen this dark place in the realm of the journey. Many have felt the same: lost, hurt, broken, rejected, and are still working through it.
We are so thankful for the hope we have in Jesus.
We know that we are not defined by what has happened in our lives, but by what our heavenly father says of us, that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, that we are precious in his sight! (Psalm 139:14)
We hold fast to his promises that he can take our brokenness, no matter how broken and shattered and destroyed, and re-work our mess on the ground into an elaborate masterpiece as we trust in him! (Romans 8:28)
We trust that even though we cannot see his plan, even though we may feel we are most certainly at rock bottom and feeling around in the dark, that his plan is far more magnificent than we can even fathom as we follow his voice. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
And though we may feel tossed aside, and unloved, we cling to Jesus’ love for us. He loved us unconditionally before we even met him, and he loved us even as we pushed him away. He chose to die on that cross for us, every single one of us. Not one person did he not think worthy the cause. That’s love that we cherish and hope in and fill from endlessly, regardless of our spouses’ choice to love us or not.
To the wife who’s lost hope- don’t stop fighting the good fight. While it is true some spouses will forever run from the Lord, this doesn’t mean it will be your spouse who forever runs. But, if he does, your life is not over. Isaiah 43:18-19 reminds us that God is in the business of renewal and redemption of lives, and as you seek and trust in him, he will make a way for you.
Your life still awaits you! God still has great plans, trust in him, and hold onto Psalm 27:13-14 when you start to grow weary……
“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
To the wife who’s lost hope, wherever you are, whatever you’re going through, you’re going to make it through this season. And please know that before you read this, you were prayed for by many.
