How to Save and Protect Your Marriage, Against All Odds, through Prayer

We’ve all seen them on social media. That “perfect” couple who gleams with happiness online, smiling, doting, and praying. Say what? Praying?

Yep. That couple that is doing the Umpteen days of prayer challenge for their spouse.

But, come on. Who has the time, and does it REALLY work?

I’m here to let you in on the scoop- YOU can improve your marriage too. For Free! How?

Yep. You guessed it, by using the power of prayer for your marriage.

My marriage is LIVING PROOF.

What did I do?

Nothing but surrender to the fact there is nothing I can do but trust in Jesus, and follow his ways. Would this guarantee my marriage turn into happily ever after?

Nope. But, if it were GOD’s will, then following Jesus would ensure that it would.

I know I’m making it sound easy- having been there let me tell you I know it’s not. It’s heart wrenching stuff. It sucks.

SO what worked? PRAYER!

Here’s what you can do today to start healing and save and protect your marriage with the power of prayer!

1- Pray. Like really pray hard. Find a quiet space and let it all out. All your fears, hurts, anxieties, hopes and dreams. Lay it on the line. Give it to the Lord. HE knows what to do with them.

2- Pray for yourself! Yes Pray that god give you the wisdom and insight to figure out what YOU need to do to follow in him and change for the better. You may be thinking you don’t need to change at all. You may feel you are in the right and have thousands of justifications for this- I did too! I was by all means in the total right in my eyes! But god showed me what to do, and he will show you too!

3- Pray for your spouse! Right now you may be reading this and thinking, uh huh. Right. Nope I’m mad at them, I’m hurt by my spouse, and I will never forgive them. But, God loves your spouse too. Your spouse might need the most prayer of all for change, for love, for forgiveness. They may be hurting too. Pray that God leads them to him, and to you. God can do this and he wants to! Statistics may be against you, but God is always for your marriage.

4.- This is the hardest part. You have to be PATIENT. I waited many months for things to start to turn around in my marriage when we hit rough waters. Many others have waited years. But, God is always working even when we feel he is silent. Sometimes we do have to wait on God’s Timing,  but, I promise you, his timing is the most perfect and glorious timing. It is worth the wait!

So tonight I URGE you to give it a try using prayer to Save and Protect your Marriage against all odds. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain, god bless!
